With about 152,500 ballots counted in the 8th District race, Burner had 49.1% to Reichert's 50.9% -- a deficit of 2,736 votes. The updated numbers came after King County released the results of 28,500 votes tallied Wednesday. Pierce County, where Reichert has stronger support, released about 2,750.
Earlier in the day, Reichert's lead was 51.1% to 48.9%. King County still has at least 31,500 ballots in hand to count, plus tens of thousands more expected to arrive after being postmarked on Tuesday.
"We were encouraged at the uptick in King County," said Burner's campaign manager, Zach Silk. "If we stay steady it's going to be incredibly close until the end."
King County is extremely democratic, and still has 31,500 plus "tens of thousands more" left to count? I think Burner has the advantage in this one.
Update: Apparently, this is eastern King County, which isn't as Blue as the western side...
