Keep the Pressure on ABC/Disney

Fri Sep 08, 2006 at 09:48:15 AM PDT

Kossack Richard Cranium breaks the news that someone at ABC is talking to Variety and telling them that the network is considering pulling "The Path to 9/11."

Bill Clinton loyalists are demanding wholesale changes to the upcoming miniseries -- and while ABC is making some snips, the alterations, insiders say, may not please the Dems.

But a bombshell decision may happen anyway: Sources close to the project say the network, which has been in a media maelstrom over the pic, is mulling the idea of yanking the mini altogether.

Excellent news, and indication that all of the pressure the coordinated effort of the left is working. More evidence? It requires a trip to RedState, but it might be worth it. ABC has cancelled it's Webads for the show. So let's keep it up. Christy at FDL provides the phone numbers:

Call Disney at 1-818-560-1000 or 1-818-460-7477. Call ABC at 1-212-456-7777 or 1-818-560-1000. Please be polite, but firm, regarding why you find lying to the public about 9/11 to be offensive.

John at AMERICAblog is going to be putting the focus on Steve Jobs today. Jobs is a major shareholder and board member at Disney. So it's not a big surprise that the movie is going to be available for free on iTunes. It certainly couldn't hurt to put a call into Apple's headquarters, to let them know you don't appreciate their willingness to disseminate this hateful fiction: (408) 996-1010 (if anyone has a better contact number/e-mail/fax for Apple, please put it in the comments).

Think Progress is urging us to contact George Mitchell, Disney's Chairman of the Board.

Be sure to get your name on the DNC's petition to Disney head Bob Iger. DNC staff report that it's been the most successful petition to date, with more than 100,000 signatures in the first 24 hours, and now have over 150,000.

And don't forget to write to the New York Times to let them know they've really screwed up in their review of the movie. Letters to the editor should be addressed to letters@nytimes.com.

As always, in contacting any of these people, be nice.
